PREMA Powerteam will race at Zandvoort this weekend as the historic Dutch venue will be home to round 2 of the German Formula 4 Championship. The team will field its full-time squad featuring Sebastian Montoya, Kirill Smal, Conrad Laursen and Hamda Al Qubaisi.
Montoya is currently the best-placed PREMA driver in the championship having claimed one podium and two points finishes in the opening event at Red Bull Ring. With so many positive finishes this year, the Colombian-American will aim for his first win at Zandvoort. Teammate Smal will be among his closest contenders. The Russian finished third in race 1 at Spielberg, but a DNF compromised the outcome of his weekend as well as his championship position.
Laursen and Al Qubaisi faced more troubles back in Austria and will go for a rebound. In round 1, the Dane was coming from his Paul Ricard injury which made things more difficult for him but will now be back to his full shape. The Emirati female racer, who showed great potential so far, will need a good qualifying session to gain good grid positions and stay away from trouble at the start.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"Zandvoort is a really challenging track especially with this type of car. Its character is unique, and it features corners unlike any other we see on the schedule. Being so fast and flowing, it needs good confidence from the driver, especially in such a competitive championship. That said, we are confident in the potential of our drivers, and feel prepared and ready to race to our 100 per cent."
