PREMA Racing is set for one of the most prestigious runs of the year this weekend at Monte Carlo. For its fourth round of 2019, the FIA Formula 2 Championship will serve again as a supporting act of the world-famous Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco. The 3.3-kilometre venue is definitely one of most renowned and recognised in the World, but also one of the most challenging, due to the proximity of the walls and the tight layout leaving absolutely no room for mistakes. In addition, the different weekend schedule and glamourous environment makes for some additional pressure for all competitors.

Monte Carlo has never been particularly kind to the team too, with one notable exception, the brilliant second place scored by Sean Gelael in last year’s feature race. The Indonesian is coming from a series of six straight top-10 finishes this season but has the potential to make further steps forward, taking advantage of his knowledge of the circuit.

On the other hand, Mick Schumacher will be off to an exciting first time. The German rookie will make his debut on the iconic Monte Carlo circuit, and having found good chemistry so far on circuits unknown to him, he is determined to impress.

René Rosin - Team Principal
“The Monte Carlo weekend is always eagerly awaited by everyone in the team, although we haven’t been particularly lucky in the past. Starting off from the great podium finish captured by Sean last season, we are looking forward to break this curse and bring home some good results. Providing a fair share of logistics and organizational challenges, the weekend will require our best effort. We will enter this event with great excitement, but we will also be extremely focused and motivated.”
