The FIA Formula 3 Championship will be back underway for round 2 at Circuit Paul Ricard this weekend as the unique French course welcomes PREMA Racing as the championship leader among drivers and teams.
Dennis Hauger, who went from pole to win in the feature race of the opening round at Barcelona, is looking for more success to master the unique format of the series, which is also comprised of two reverse-grid races per weekend. The 18-year-old Norwegian will race for the first time at the 5.8-kilometre Le Castellet venue, featuring fast corners flowing amid its famous blue and red runoff strips.
Olli Caldwell will line up second in points after taking his maiden win at Circuit de Catalunya. The 19-year-old Brit has a positive story at Paul Ricard with great results achieved in both Formula 4 and Formula Regional. With his potential now clear, he will try to keep his momentum of late.
Following a difficult opening race, Monegasque rookie Arthur Leclerc looks forward to further develop his learning curve. In round 1 he achieved increasingly positive results and, running in Formula Regional, he scored two wins and a second place at Paul Ricard last year so there seem to be good chances ahead.
René Rosin - Team Principal
"The first round of the season handed us really good results and our goal is obviously to continue running at the same pace although the pack is so competitive that there are no guarantees. Both Dennis and Olli were able to pick up wins but we are sure that Arthur has a similar potential, and knowing his good chemistry with this track I'm sure that he will be up to the task."
