The Formula Regional European Championship is nearing decision time. The series will wrap-up its late 2020 season this coming weekend at Vallelunga, and the 4.5-kilometre Roman circuit will provide a perfect frame for the showdown.
With the Team Championship already secured two rounds ago in Barcelona, PREMA Powerteam is set for a deciding battle for the driver title with three of its drivers sitting at the front of the overall and rookie classifications. Margins are razor-thin though, and a great show is in order.
Brazilian Gianluca Petecof managed to retain his championship lead at Imola and now has a two-point margin on Arthur Leclerc in a series he has been leading for its most part. The 19-year-old Monegasque has been on a season-long chase and hopes to turn the tables in the season finale, although Oliver Rasmussen must not be taken out of the equation. The 20-year-old Dane showed scintillating form recently, and despite facing really bad fortunes at Imola, his pace stands untouched. Jamie Chadwick is looking forward to the weekend to put everything together and maximize her potential.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
“It has been a really challenging season, but it’s great to see the championships finally come to full circle and we are looking forward to the closing round of the year. There is a great battle going on, and we are delighted by the competitive level shown by our drivers. We are sure that Gianluca, Arthur and Oliver will reward the team’s commitment a spectacular challenge and hopefully a title, and we are confident that Jamie will also make further gains.”
