With the competitors of the FIA Formula 2 Championship set to line-up in Hungary, PREMA Racing is bracing for round three of an incredibly fast-paced season to gather more success and positive results. The team completed the short trip from Red Bull Ring to Hungaroring and is swiftly going through the pre-race preparations with the driver pairing of Mick Schumacher and Robert Shwartzman.
The Russian is coming from a memorable weekend in Styria, having won his first race in the series last Saturday. Despite a DNF in race 2, the momentum is still running high for him, and the goal for the weekend will be to keep his name at the front end of the charts and hold onto the driver points lead.
Schumacher will be back to the place where the magic happened for him in 2019. The tight and twisty 4.3-kilometre venue, located in the outskirts of Budapest, saw him cruise to his maiden F2 win last August, and with a lot of potential on display since the start of the season, the 19-year-old German aims to pick up where he left off last year.
With four new winners in four races, the 2020 season already proved tight and competitive, and PREMA Racing is aiming to take a further step to consolidate the team’s position.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
“We are still delighted for coming back to victory in Austria. The feeling is great and motivates the whole team to keep improving and doing better. We expected Robert to quickly become a major contender, and we are absolutely confident that Mick will be showing his way through. Having three races in three weeks is no easy task, but these are the situations in which professionalism is a deciding factor, enabling the team to smooth sail across the weekend focusing on what can make a difference.”
