Just mere days after the completion of the opening round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Red Bull Ring, PREMA Racing is already set to go back to action in Austria for the second consecutive round in two weeks at the Styrian venue. Having started with the right foot in the opener, with Oscar Piastri winning race 1 and taking the series lead, the team now looks forward to carrying the momentum into round 2.
While the Australian exited the weekend with the highest amount of points, his teammates were not out of the hunt by any means. American Logan Sargeant posted a second place in race 1 before falling victim of an early puncture in race 2. In both cases, he definitely proved his status as a top contender. The same can be said for 18-year-old Dane Frederik Vesti, the youngest of the PREMA Racing roster, who scored two points finishes.
As demonstrated in the opening round, being fast straight away and mastering the traffic and DRS trains will be key, while there will also be a different tire compound choice (hard instead of medium) to take into account. In addition, the competition will be even tighter than in round 1, creating an increasingly demanding challenge for everyone.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
“I think the team did a great job in the opening round of the year, and we are all determined to keep working in the same direction. Our drivers delivered an excellent performance and they were pretty evenly matched too. We couldn't have asked for more. Considering how hard it is to pass here at Red Bull Ring, starting with the right foot again will be paramount. We will try to stay super focused right from the start and throughout the whole weekend."
