The new era has come, and it is finally about to start. Following a winter of testing and preparations, the FIA Formula 3 Championship is set for its historical first run at Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya. Coming from a long and successful tradition in F3 racing, PREMA Racing could not miss the opportunity. The Italian squad prepared for the new season with the utmost care and will approach the opening round of 2019 with a competitive package.
The lineup for the new season will consist of three brand-new Formula 3 cars. Featuring state-of-the-art technology, the FIA F3 cars have almost 400 horsepower, a considerable bump compared to the past.
Three talented drivers have been selected for the new challenge, two of them coming from the Ferrari Driver Academy. Marcus Armstrong, an 18-year-old from New Zealand, has won the Italian Formula 4 Championship with Prema two seasons ago and wants to continue his consistent growth. On the other hand, 19-year-old Russian Robert Shwartzman won the European F3 rookie title in 2018 and is looking forward to playing in the big league. Joining the Prema family for the first time will be 20-year-old Indian racer Jehan Daruvala, making a step up to a new series after having raced in the European F3 Championship last year.
Coming down to the opening round of the year at the technical venue near Barcelona, the team is motivated for the new chapter, which will hopefully reward all the efforts made throughout the winter.
