The FIA Formula 2 Championship will line-up this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya venue for the third round of the 2019 season. Taking place after the two eastern events at Al Sakhir and Baku, the Spanish venue will open a challenging European stint for the teams and drivers of the series. PREMA Racing is ready for a crucial occasion. The 4.653 Montmelò is renowned for highlighting the true potential of drivers and cars as it presents a mix of different features, like elevation changes, corners of different types and long straights. The circuit also hosted three days of preseason testing, so all drivers had time to find the right consistency.
Returning after scoring his first top-5 finish in the series in Azerbaijan, Ferrari Driver Academy racer Mick Schumacher put up some solid performances and the young German now hopes to finalize them into a top result in Spain. On the other hand, Indonesian Sean Gelael is coming from a double points finish and is certainly looking forward to carrying the momentum in the European part of the season.
René Rosin - Team Principal
"We are back at Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya after the positive feedback we had in preseason testing, so we are definitely aiming for some good results. We expect close racing though, as everyone had the chance to work in detail there, so the field will be tight-knit. So far, our drivers scored multiple points finishes, and we think that the podium is clearly in our frame. We need to put it all together. We will work as hard as ever this weekend to bring home good results."
