PREMA Powerteam is delighted to go back in action in one of its favourite hunting ground, as the Italian Formula 4 Championship starts its 2019 season this weekend at Vallelunga. Beginning the season as the reigning champion, the team is looking forward to continuing a successful tradition that led to four driver and four team titles in the last five years.
For the opening round of the series, at the up-and-down Roman venue, the Italian operation will rely on the four-strong line-up that made a winning debut in the 2019 German series one week ago at Oschersleben.
Having already taken his first win of the season, 16-year-old Brazilian Gianluca Petecof definitely provided himself with a head start for the Italian championship while his three teammates also got great insight ahead of the weekend.
Partnering Petecof for a full-season campaign will be the trio of Paul Aron, Anthony Famularo and Oliver Rasmussen. The 15-year-old Estonian quickly showed top-5 capabilities and is definitely eyeing more progress, while both 18-year-old Dane and the 15-year-old Venezuelan showed good potential which will hopefully be put to fruition right away in Italy.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"We are finally back on track in a series that gave us so much success in the past. It also means that we are the ones to beat and our contenders will try their utmost to succeed in that. We worked smoothly over the winter and the first Formula 4 race of the year at Oschersleben was positive enough to make us look forward to Vallelunga with confidence."
