PREMA Theodore Racing delivered another podium finish today at Zandvoort to cap an overwhelmingly positive FIA Formula 3 Championship event at the Dutch venue. After a complicated qualifying 2 session, the team lined-up for the third and final race of the weekend with a fourth place on the grid as its best starting position with Guanyu Zhou. The Chinese driver was the most consistent scorer of the meeting and put up an amazing performance ending up in P2 to secure his third podium finish of the weekend.

Despite Zhou was the only Prema driver to take points, the team has plenty to celebrate as it leaves the famed circuit with a 1-2-3 lead in the driver championship: Marcus Armstrong, who went from 22nd on the grid to 16th at the end, is still on top, in front of team-mates Zhou and Ralf Aron. The Estonian, who delivered two wins yesterday in race 1 and 2, finished in P14, right behind Mick Schumacher. Starting from P12, Russian Robert Shwartzman was in the hunt for the points zone when the interruptions came and had to settle for 11th.

“In race 3 I got another good start, straight to P3, and attacked Nikita Troitski. He squeezed me all the way towards the gravel and I had to back off to avoid a crash. After that, I controlled the race. I got up to the second position, then we stayed for a long time behind the safety-car. I’m really happy with the weekend and the three podium finishes out of three races.”

“We did the best we could considering our starting position. I ended up in P13, five spots up from P18, with even some good overtaking maneuvers. Now we have to take advantage of our full potential at Spa.”

# 7 - Ralf Aron

“It’s great to be back in the championship hunt and I’m really happy for the two wins we got this weekend. Unfortunately, today we couldn’t do much but overall I really want to thank the team for the hard work. Now we just have to continue on this path in Spa.”

# 8 - Marcus Armstrong

“We did all we could today, we arrived P16 starting from P23. The race was actually quite enjoyable considering that it was always going to be difficult to get into the points. We just had fun and raced, fighting with other drivers. As always, the car felt really strong and we could make progress quite easily. In the end it has been a positive weekend. We kept the championship lead and will continue fighting.”

# 10 - Robert Shwartzman

“Starting from outside the top-10 we knew it wasn’t going to be easy to recover and that was the story of the race, especially if we add that there were two safety cars and a red flag that reduced the chances available. We ended up 11th, close to the points zone, and now we look forward to a smoother ride in the next round at Spa.”
