Ocon started his karting career in 2016, emerging as an incredibly talented driver right from the outset. He won the French Championship multiple times and came second in the WSK Euro Series in 2011 which prompted the move to single-seaters. He started his career in Formula Renault in 2012, finishing third in the 2013 Eurocup Formula Renault Championship. Later that year, he joined PREMA for the Macau Grand Prix and went on to dominate the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship with 15 poles and 9 wins. In 2015, he won the GP3 Series and debuted in Formula 1 in 2016. He went full-time for Force India in 2017. After spending one year as a reserve driver at Mercedes, he joined Renault F1. With the team, later renamed Alpine F1, he captured a resounding maiden win at the 2021 Grand Prix of Hungary.
