Calendar to be revised due to Covid-19 emergency
The FIA Formula 2 Championship provides young drivers, who have completed the F3 and F4 steps, with the training ground required to reach Formula 1. The Formula 2 car is designed to help drivers get used to a powerful high performance vehicle, using the same Pirelli tyres as Formula 1 and competing in Formula 1 circuits.
There is 1 compulsory pitstop in each race and the drivers must use at least one set of each specification of dry-weather tyres.
Five sets of dry-weather tyres are provided per weekend – three of "prime" specification and two of "option" specification. Each driver is also given three sets of wet-weather tyres.
