PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing faced more troubled times at Silverstone in the FIA Formula 2 Championship qualifying held at the famed British venue. Unfortunately, the team did not make it to the top-10 for tomorrow’s race 1 with Dutchman Nyck De Vries ending up in 11th place and Sean Gelael taking the 15th spot. The Indonesian will have to serve a three-position penalty he carried from the previous round at Red Bull Ring.
The team is looking forward to a prompt rebound in terms of race pace in order to hopefully secure good points and then set the tone for a positive race 2.
# 3 - Sean Gelael
“It was a difficult qualifying for us. Somehow we lost pace in the last two races which is a bit weird. Unfortunately, I have a three-position grid penalty which was kind of a surprise because I didn’t make a move on my contender in the previous race. In the situation we are now, we hope we can fight at the front but we will have a long night tonight.”
# 4 - Nyck De Vries
“It has been a difficult qualifying situation and we are currently investigating why in the past weekends we have been struggling with performance. We lost a bit because my car went in safety mode again during a flying lap but nevertheless we were a bit down because that doesn’t explain our gap to the leaders. We are working to fight our way into the top-10 but we have to find out why we lost performance recently.”
