PREMA Theodore Racing continued to show impressive form this weekend as the Italian Formula 4 Championship lined-up for its second round of the season, the only one outside the Italian border, at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. The team secured one win and a second-place finish courtesy of British racer Olli Caldwell, who cruised to a runaway victory in race 1 before completing the weekend with a P8 in a rain-affected race 2 and the second place in race 3. Lining up as the championship leader, Enzo Fittipaldi didn't relinquish the position despite some early troubles. After a DNF in race 1, he rebounded to take second place in race 2 and a positive top-5 in race three. The Brazilian is now 12 points ahead of his closest contender in standings. Fellow countryman Gianluca Petecof scored double points finishes in race 2 and 3, managing some extremely wet conditions. He grabbed two rookie wins in the process to increase his margin atop the category. Last but not least, Jack Doohan made his debut in the series with a rookie podium. Despite the lack of running with the Italian championship's car, he posted a top-10 overall in race 2 to gain his first point in the series.

"Overall I'd say that it was an alright weekend. It started with some troubles in free practice but then we rebounded with P2 in qualifying. We had a bit of an incident with Jack in race 1, but then we managed to post positive results in both race 2 and 3. It could have been better, it could have been worse but I’m satisfied. It’s been a pretty regular weekend. Now I'm very much looking forward to the third round of the ADAC Formel 4 Championship."

"Well, to be honest, we didn’t quite have the pace for the win, unfortunately, while battling for the podium in Race 1 I was involved in a racing incident when a driver crashed into me which ended in a DNF. Race 2 was really wet and more difficult for me as it’s a completely different car in the wet to drive compared to the British F4. Race 3 we had good pace at the start making up positions but unfortunately, a driver went for a kamikaze move in the last corner and hit my back wheel which ended with me spinning. We got home in 12th. Luck just wasn’t on our side this weekend but I learned a lot about the car and we should definitely be strong for when I come back in Monza!"

“This was a great weekend for us, we got a great start in race 1 and managed to stay ahead and pull a 5s gap for the victory. Race 2 was not so good, I made some stupid mistakes and after dropping down to 15th I got back into the points finishing 8th. Race 3 was great finishing 2nd to take another podium. I’m looking to carry this pace on towards the next races of the championships in Lautizring and Monza.”

"We had a good qualifying and a good pace with the double pole position, but unfortunately I didn't follow the rules correctly with the Full Course Yellow so I got pole taken away as a penalty. In race 1 someone tapped me from behind at the start and I lost my rear wing. Then I had a collision with another driver so I had another penalty for race 2. We started P5 and it was raining. We got a good start and ended up finishing P2 which is a good result for the championship. In race 3 we had great pace at the beginning but we soon started losing the rear tires. It was a big drop and we lost a lot of pace. We were fighting for the win but we dropped down to P5. It was a good weekend though, I'm happy with what we did with the team. The car felt really good. I'm really looking forward to Lausitzring, I think it will be a really good weekend. Let's push and keep our head cool."
