PREMA Racing is heading into the second half of the FIA Formula 3 Championship season with confidence as the 2019 series is approaching its traditional Hungarian round at Budapest. The team had a fair share of success on the twisty Hungarian Grand Prix circuit in the previous era of F3, and wants to re-establish itself for the new season too.
Championship leader and Ferrari Driver Academy man Robert Shwartzman had an impressive season so far, and despite not having his best weekend at the previous round, he was able to salvage a good amount of points. Not too far behind him lays Indian Jehan Daruvala, one of the true revelations this year. Shwartzman and Daruvala scored two wins and five podium finishes each in 2019.
Standing fourth, New Zealander Marcus Armstrong has made bold statements in the last couple of rounds. The Ferrari Driver Academy prospect is determined to score big in this upcoming race weekend!
René Rosin - Team Principal
"We are coming from a challenging round at Silverstone, but even though we interrupted our winning streak, we think we proved our resilience by securing multiple podium finishes. We still have two drivers, Shwartzman and Daruvala, atop the standings, plus we are sure that it's only a matter of time to see Armstrong finally break the ice and get back in full contention. Most of the teams know the circuit very well so with the beginning of the second half of the season, Hungaroring will provide an interesting benchmark. We are ready to take action!"
